Heavy rainfall and rising river levels are worsening the flood situation across Uttar Pradesh. In Chitrakoot, the rapidly rising Mandakini River has flooded several shops around Ram Ghat, while residents have been moved away from vulnerable areas. In Sonbhadra, torrential rain has flooded homes and damaged roads, bridges and culverts. Water and debris have also affected agricultural fields, damaging crops and disrupting connectivity between villages.
