BISHKEK ARRIVAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, after completing a two-day visit to Uzbekistan. He received a grand welcome at the airport and is scheduled to participate in the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. His visit is being closely watched for its significance to India’s Central Asia policy, economic relations with Kyrgyzstan, and strategic partnership with Russia. During his stay, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, focusing on strengthening cooperation between the two countries. One of the most important meetings will be with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where several key issues are expected to be discussed. Modi will also attend the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek. Earlier, during his Uzbekistan visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev conferred Uzbekistan’s highest civilian honour, the “Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik,” meaning “High-Level Friendship,” on PM Modi.
